Walden Place is an active senior living community with support staff available 24 hours a day. All meals and snacks are offered each day and feature an extensive menu. Homemade soups and breads are available. Housekeeping and personal laundry service, and transportation are available. Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming and medication management are provided. A full time case manager helps each resident maintain their quality of life by organizing and managing healthcare appointments and medication changes. Each private apartment features a full bathroom and an emergency call bell. Studio and one bedroom apartments are available. Each day six or more programs are offered. A structured exercise program, spiritual services, social hour, trips and outings, cooking classes, and educational classes are offered. Assisted Living: An active community offering a balance of personal care assistance with opportunities for educational, spiritual, physical and social programs. Residents are encouraged to maintain their interests and local connections. Memory Care: A secure community specifically designed to enhance the lifestyle of those suffering from mild to moderate memory loss. Staff members provide individualized care to meet the needs of each resident focusing on the preferences of the resident. Staff members are specially trained to provide support to those with mild to moderate memory loss. Residents enjoy baking, cooking, gardening, singing, pet visits, and reminiscing. Veteran's benefits may be available to those who qualify. Veterans and/or their widowed spouses may be eligible to receive a pension of up to $1094-$1704 per month. The William George Agency for Childrens' Services supplies institutionalized residential treatment for socially and emotionally handicapped boys ages 12-17 and girls of high school age. There is an on-campus school, recreation and work-experience program. Regular treatment is provided through individual counseling and therapeutic groups by professional social workers and psychologists. Current capacity: 193, of which 52 beds are in the Boys' Hard-to-Place ("Critical Care") program and 12 are in the Girls' Hard-to-Place ("Critical Care") program, 20 are for sex offenders, 27 are for dually diagnosed youth (mentally retarded/emotionally disturbed), 9 are in an intensive residential substance abuse program, and 73 are in a less structured, open-campus program. Referrals may be made by Departments of Social Services, Probation, school districts or the Office of Children & Family Services.
