Participation is voluntary for the child and family. When a school district identifies a student appropriate for the program, it requests the service through TST BOCES. Participating schools have a designated liaison to the program, usually a school counselor or social worker. Questions about Possibilities should be directed to mental health staff in the child's school. Sister programs are the Lighthouse Classroom on the TST BOCES campus and Expanding Possibilities, an initiative to promote collaboration of schools, families and community agencies to support children and adolescents with mental health issues interfering with school success.
